Pasteurized crabmeat is essentially freshcrabmeat that
has been heated to a moderate
temperature to kill the bacteria that causes spoilage. Thus,
the shelf life for this crabmeat when stored in the refrigerator
is 1 year. By comparison, fresh crabmeat lasts 2-3 days in
the refrigerator! The taste is very true to fresh and most
people can't tell the difference.
